General Information

Captains Practices

• There are 20? sessions leading up to the start of the season on Monday, Wednesday and Sundays evenings.

• All players that are intending to tryout for the high school team are encouraged to attend.

• Paid for by the school district.

• SNS HS Coaches cannot organize, plan or have anything to do with Captain's Practices. The SNS Booster Club does provide an adult coach to run the ice times.

Summer Ice Time

Summer Practices

• MSHSL allows High School Coaches to run 25 summer ice times.

• A great opportunity for them to experience the speed, structure, and expectations of high school hockey.

• Summer practices are typically every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-9:30 AM at the Scheels Athletic Complex.

• The rink is typically open 30 minutes before practice starts (for early morning skates).

• Comes prepared to practice with a water bottle, tennis shoes and workout clothes each day.

• All Storm'n Sabres (players from Sartell-St. Stephen and Sauk Rapids-Rice) entering grades 8-12 shall skate in the summer practices.

• Girls will need to bring their hockey bags to and from practice each day due to limited space in our locker room.

• Scrimmages against teams in our area are scheduled every once in a while.

Simley Scrimmage Fest

• Rosters will be built based on attendance at Summer Ice Time skates.

• There will 3 or 4 scrimmages based on available teams.

• Scrimmage Fest is typically late July.

• Coaches will inform the girls and families regarding who is playing and what scrimmages they are playing in.

Overnight Trip

• On alternating years the team travels to a couple different towns for an overnight trip.

• Games in Thief River Falls and Roseau.

Thief River/Roseau Trip

• Team stays in Thief River Falls.

• Players/Coaches are in a hotel and families stay in a different hotel.

Two Harbors/Cloquet Trip

• Team stays in Duluth.

• Players/Coaches are in a hotel and families stay in a different hotel.
